Adding equipment, changing a sequence or tidying up code someone else left behind.

Upgrading old hardware

Moving obsolete PLCs onto current platforms, planned around your downtime.

Robot cells

Programming, reteaching and integrating ABB robots with the rest of the line.

Commissioning

On site for I/O checks, testing and start-up alongside your electrical and mechanical teams.

Breakdowns and fault finding

On site or remote, to find the problem and get production running again.

About

Robert Kenyon – Director / Software Engineer

I started in industry in 2019 with a mechatronics apprenticeship at the North West Training Council, then went on to an HNC in Electrical Engineering. I started out on electrical installation and testing, moved into PLC programming and commissioning, and have since worked on lines for JLR, Vauxhall, Vaillant and others, from offline programming through to handover to production.

I set up Kynos Automation in 2023 so customers deal directly with the engineer doing the work. The person you talk to about the job is the person who writes the code and stands next to the machine when it starts up.

You get the full, unlocked source code and documentation at the end of every job, so you're never tied to me. I work on fixed-price projects or by the day, and I'm happy to work as extra capacity for integrators and OEMs.
